If you missed the first post that mentioned the road trip that we were on during Australia, let me refresh your memory. We drove 1,600 miles down the eastern coast of Australia over 2 weeks. It was quite a haul, but we saw some nice places along the way. Here are a few pictures of some of our stop-overs.
Snack needed!
The middle of Australia is like this - lots of flat land for miles
This place was one of our favorite stops - Bryon Bay. It was a super chill beach town with lots of surfers and warm water.
We drove up to the light house and were able to see the beach north of Byron Bay - Beautiful!! Reminded me a lot of Big Sur.
The beach behind me is Byron Bay.
In addition to our stop-overs, we saw a ton of crazy signs on the road. I guess that there are a lot of accidents on the road we traveled because of driver fatigue. I can see why because you cover A LOT of land without many interesting places to stop. Here are some of the interesting ones I found online (of course I couldn't take these since I was driving, but you get the point).
I would have stopped at one of these, but they were closed when I would have tried. We did all our driving during the day, so coffee wasn't necessary to stay awake.
We did not see any wild koalas or cassowarys.
But we did get to see some kangaroos! No pictures of wild ones, unfortunately.
