Best day in Kauai

There are a bunch of pictures on this post! This was one of our favorite days on Kauai. We took a helicopter ride with Jack Harter helicopters and it was awesome! We were in the helicopter in the background and we were off the ground for about an hour. AMAZING views of the island. Enjoy!

We are excited!

You will see lots of cliffs in the pictures. Its hard to capture in the pictures just how sheer the landscape is.

The first of MANY waterfalls. I wanted to say there where hundreds (I seriously think we saw that many) but Jer says that it was probably less than that (doubtful).

"The" waterfall from Jurassic Park

Straight down! Nuts!

A little plateau on top of one of the peaks in the canyon. If you look closely you can see a couple of goats.

The beginning of the Napali Coast. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Wow.

I think the mountains to the right look like wrinkly old men.

See them? Totally there.

Look closely. On the right there is a ridge. So... remember when I posted about hiking in Wiamea canyon? This is TOTALLY THE RIDGE WE HIKED OUT TO! We are super bad-ass.

Same ridge!

They filmed part of Pirates of the Caribbean here.

Pretty beach that is extremely secluded.

This was absolutely my favorite part. Look closely! Whales!

So cool!

The best shot of them.

Incredible cliffs!

So we did a couple hikes out to the Napali coast. The first was the day we hiked from Wiamea Canyon. The other day (yet to be posted) was when we did the Kalalao trail. This is the beach that is at the trailhead.

In this picture, you can see where we hiked along the Kalalao trail. We started at the beach and headed right.

In this close up of the right side of the picture just above, you can see a waterfall. See it? That is where we hiked to on the Kalalao trail.

Pretty nice view of the coastline.

This is tunnels beach. We went there for some snorkeling (blog entry to come) and it was Jer's favorite place!

Hanalei Bay - this is were we went surfing on our last full day in paradise (blog entry to come... man I have a lot more blogging to do!)

So we are still in the helicopter, and how we are headed inland a little bit to see the "wettest" place on earth. It averages over 400 inches of rain per year, but we got a pretty good view of it!

The inside of a crater of the dormant volcano. There was an eruption a while ago and it sent debris (according to our pilot) all the way to Oahu - 60 miles away!

Such a fun tie!

We had a great pilot. Our fab fanny packs were required - life jacket inside.
